The US presidential election is the most complex election process worldwide , it starts in January and ends in January. This election was unusual, the americans in the previous elections used to see two qualified candidates represented the two major parties of the US , but this election the situation changed; a candidate who has no political achievements or participation represent the republicans "Trump" and a candidate who has a huge political achievements but full of dark points -The private server that she used to contact Russia- represent the democrats and what made the situation more complicated is the racist statements that Donald Trump issued against Latino, Muslims , and Canadian.
Moving to the election day " Super Tuesday" the americans went to the voting centers in order to choose who will be represented in the "electoral college" which will choose the president.
Whats the electoral college? Briefly this is the body which is elected from the people and has the right to elect the president.
How do Americans elect this body? In the election day , in every state the two major parties prepare a list; this list included a number of the party-members which equals the seats allotted to this state in the electoral college. Then the people went to vote to one of the candidates who represented the major parties. If one of them wins , all his party list wins the seats of the state in the electoral college. Under the rule "Winner takes all"
Take an ex: California has 55 seats in the electoral college. Every party has to prepare a list with 55 names. if Trump elected his party list will be represented in the electoral college and vise versa.
Moving back to this election, Hillary succeeded to win the popular votes (she got 47.7% and he got 47.5%) but he won to get more than the number needed in the electoral college.
Now the republicans have 279 seats in the electoral college and the democrats have 228 which means theoretically Trump won the elections but this not the end of the game, the end of the game will be in the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December.
Many citizens - included politician - think this system is injustice and rigged.
Among all the dark points of the american presidency elections there're some bright points in the behavior of the voters such as they voted against Hilary who considered a part of the officials in US and supported from the five living presidents of the United States and the second point is that they choose to elect a candidate who has no political history instead of electing a candidate who has a huge political history who does most of she wants to do when she was the first lady and the secretary of state in the Obama's first presidential term..
